Another good place for some insight is the Rebel Yell podcast. The guys there are really well read, at least one is a professor, and they also have Dark Enlightenment on the roster now.

If you haven't yet, read the Federalist and Anti-Federalist papers. You can get them free online or like $25 in hardback. Really good reads.

The Dark Enlightenment is a neo-reactionary theory that as we move further into the ideas of the Enlightenment ("Liberty, Fraternity, Equality", democracy, etc...) we begin to realize that the Enlightenment was not a brightening of the human mind and spirit, but a darkening instead as man has forsaken God and others in lieu of his own selfish drives, and the governments which have spawned from this movement have crushed the human mind and spirit.

Dark Enlightenment, the commentator, is a neo-reactionary writer for The American Sun, amongst others, who had his Twatter account suspended for Wrongthink.
