You're in the same boat as my younger brother. That sucks, sex is like food. When you're full you don't care and you can worry about other things, but when you're starving it's all you can think about and it makes it difficult to hunt food.

Student loan debt. The only way to get rid of it is throwing more money at it, or death. And before you suggest it, bankruptcy won't work. Most are private loans and IBR does not apply to them.

What was your major? Was it worth it at least?

Culinary arts, so no. I'm also counting my wife's debt which is way worse for an equally useless degree.

I was in your boat with $75k in student loans ten years ago. It's all paid off today. As long as you chose a field wisely and studied hard, it will be gone before you know it.

Self cleaning dishware don't exist and there's no room left in the sink.

I used to let dishes pile up, and it is awful. Once you let it get bad you know it's going to take forever to do the dishes. Then you start using Tupperware for cereal to avoid it and it gets worse and worse.

A few years ago I made the change to just clean all my dishes as soon as I was done with them. Make it a habit and you will never have that pile of work staring you down every time you go into the kitchen again.

OMG I'm trying so hard to get my BF on board with this. I'm injured right now and he feels like if he's going to do it then it doesn't matter when it gets done as long as it gets done.....wait 5 days until we have no forks or cups. UGH. I miss having sink space.

the only alternative is disposable dishware.....but i suppose you would then need a self emptying garbage so we are back to square one

Being alone (without a SO) is starting to get to me. Only took 7 years.

A lack of money.
I have my health, good family and friends, a job I enjoy (for the most part!) that doesn't pay enough to for all the wild, fun things I dream of doing/owning, my social life is active enough for my tastes (probably a bit conservative for some but I enjoy a peaceful life and time to myself) and I'm currently enjoying being single. If I could somehow earn a fortune or find a beautiful heiress to settle down with I'd be pretty damn happy.

I kind of have the same situation, except I am married and my wife just graduated with her masters in psychology. She just got her first job and makes more then twice what I do. I remember thinking when I was younger how cool that would be, BUT in our society it really kind of sucks. Like her parents and my parents and everyone we know, knows that she makes way more money then me. I guess I can't complain about it, but its all about perspective I guess.

Work taking up to much of my life. I've been working since I was 14. I just can't believe everyone is OK that we work 5 days out of 7. We're expected to do this until we can retire. Where is time to do things? To rest or travel?

My dad and grandfather both didn't make it until retirement. So it just feels like I'm going to end up doing this until I die.

I agree. It's skewed in the wrong direction.

Yeah I'd much rather it be normal to either have a 3 day weekend. Or longer time off for vacations.

Right now I get 3 weeks a year. Which I can't take more then 10 days off in a row. 3 weeks is a lot more then some people. But it took me working 7 years at my job to get the benefit.

It's just crazy that there is 52 weeks in a year and on average everyone gets 2 of them off.

It's hard for me to imagine a scenario where the average person makes the same amount of pay and doesn't have to work as much. Maybe when there's more automation in play. For now it's just going to be a tradeoff

Nah, that's when you have people that expect you to do more for the same pay. Americans are far more productive now than we were 30 years ago but wages have stagnated because we're expected to do more for less. We dont even expect employers to pay for healthcare or provide a pension plan anymore when these were once considered the "benefits" of having a good job that you worked hard and were good at. I honestly miss working 4x10's and having 3 days off. Having a business day to get my personal business in order is nice and it made the weekends feel like they actually mattered.
