Skip everything after Trinity. The show runner left after that season and it went downhill from there.

Seriously the worst ending to one of the best series ever. I watched Dexter every Sunday for years and the ending was just so subpar that it was truly a slap in the face. I typically don't wish people failure in their careers but whoever wrote and/or ok'd the writing decisions in that last season should not be allowed to do tv for a very long time.

How I Met Your Mother was a complete travesty.

Whole season based on a wedding weekend? Let's have them get divorced after like five minutes because fuck it we can.

I refused to watch the reruns after the finale. It completely killed it for me. The alternate ending that was released was a little better, but it was too late.

The released alt' ending actually made the situation worse for me. Knowing that they wrote, shot, etc that ending and still made the choice they did... ugh.

I disagree. I think they shot themselves in the foot initially by making Robin the aunt, when everyone knew it should have been them from the start. What they did was the only way to save it.

that entire last season was terrible. It's like they had run out of things to do and just desperately wanted their original idea to work without considering better options.

Breaking Bad. AMC fucked season five up so bad. If you watch the last half of season five and then loop back to the beginning of the series at season one, the quality difference is huge. Season five seems to me like the writers just tried to create as much drama and tension as possible. And that jackass McGyver shit Walter set up in the finale.

I didn't think it was that bad, but they were definitely reaching for straws at the end. I feel like they just picked Nazi's because there's not much worse compared to walt and all the bad people he killed.

I disagree with you completely. I feel like that ending was the perfect wrap up to the whole series. It gave closure as well as a fair amount of action and just all around amazing acting and writing just like show had always been. And if you remember he does McGyver shit all the time in the show! He's a damn scientist!

One day I'll finish BB. Unfortunately, it was impossible to avoid spoilers for the ending (it was spoiled for me a long time ago).

I do agree that there was some over-reaching - Walter was a chemist not a mechanical engineer or a weapon specialist. At least the last season did wrapped up the show, unlike Lost!

This. How could such a brilliant and well thought out show just completely give up in the last two or three episodes?! There were so many other, more satisfying ways they could have ended it.

Honestly, True Blood started off so good and it just got progressively so bad. Couldn't even watch the last season.

That's the exact season I stopped watching it at! It was always kind of soap opera-y, but after season 3 they took it too far over the top.

NO THAT ENDING WAS PERFECT. Tony knew he was going to either get killed or sent to jail. We knew it was coming. A big part of the series was showing how shit really goes down, with minimal cinematic glamour. That's how it goes down when you're shot to death by a discrete hitman. You don't get to finish what you were doing, you don't get to see it. And it had a serious impact on the viewers.
