No Millenial Fair.

I played Chrono Trigger, and it had a spectacular Millenial Fair. I figured, all right, awesome! The year 2000 is coming up, people are going to be super psyched and pull out all the stops, just lose it and go utter ape shit with happiness and candy and rides and undiluted joy at being able to experience this magical time.

Instead, there was hardly anything, and what was going on was rinky-dink and just plain apathetic. I spent the next several months in the pure resentment of all adult humans other than my grandmother, who drove me around looking for celebratory things to do and consoled me after.

I just wanted you to know that is my favorite game ever, and I can understand the disappointment.

I knew there probably wouldn't be silver points, but I wanted it so badly. I couldn't understand what was wrong with everyone that they weren't going batshit insane over it.

CT was my first RPG I fell in love with. It literally blew my mind and opened up an exciting world of adventure so awesome that I could not handle it. Much of my school day was spent daydreaming; I even wrote fanfiction for it before I knew what fanfiction was. The music is what I still hold closest these days, too; one of my goals in life is to be able to play some of Zohar's piano arrangements for this game.
