The evolution of dogs has been much faster. The agricultural revolution wouldn't have been revolutionary if it had taken millions of years. Things change.

They are still recognizable as canines. They didn't turn into a cat or a seal. Breeding something for specific traits isn't the same as evolution.

Thinking harder, I realise that the logic of my argument doesn't depend macro-evolution. I only need micro-evolution as a premise.

My concern is that humans are only just smart enough to sustain civilization. A dozen generations of dysgenic mating and civilization collapses. Then micro-evolution gets re-run. Civilization probably comes back eventually, but future degenerate humans are in competition with other intelligent animals. Maybe Civilization II is populated by the descendants of humans, or may chimpanzees or raccoons :-)

Christianity is complacent about this. In particular they are complacent about race mixing, because Christianity is hardcore in its universalism. Opting for Christianity is like opting for (Rhodesia --> Zimbabwe), but globally.
