I have a similar kind of story, execpt I started looking into Linux about 2 years ago, then said "Fuck this I'm diving straight into Arch" after a having a BSOD (I'm the kind of person who endlessly tinkers with stuff), while watching a stream with my friends. I've been Linux only for about 10 or so months so far.

I technically used Linux Mint for the little bit of experimenting I did for over a year, but that was never exactly much. I went to Arch once I was fed up with Windows and learned how to do all the stuff needed from my phone. I was familiar with the concept of package managers and basic CLI stuff before I went Arch.
