Good article!
Love the smell is a stretch.
I laugh at the smell and sing a modified version of the Doors - "the smell came through on the other side"

Asparagus contains a compound known as mercaptan. When this is broken down by the digestive system, by-products are released causing the smell.
So the way our body breaks down asparagus it causes it to smell like the same thing.

Yep, the same thing can also happen with onions and garlic.

Fun fact: That doesn't happen to everyone and if it happens can be tested in the genes.
Ha! A mutant! What could this mutation possibly serve for humanity?

Mutations are random, they don't serve a purpose. This one changes digestion a bit.

Cause you ate asparagus, dummy. ;-)
Wish it would do that when I have turkey and potatoes...or a good steak off the grill. Asparagus tastes good but smells nasty!!!
