It was recommended to me in a web thread. I use Air VPN. I have heard from a few people that others are better, but I have all my machines set up to use Air and it's never done me wrong. Easy client, easy payment, always connects.
they log. they say they don't log, but the stats they provide during sessions, accessible to anyone with the account login creds elsewhere online, mean that they keep more logs than the absolute minimum.
r/vpn users had a lot of trouble with PIA. Take a look and you'll see a sub that was like 95% pro-PIA do a 180 degree switch after fucked up shit by PIA admins

Australia recently pushed through some draconian new internet policies and the Australian subreddit somewhat exploded with recommendations. Private Internet Access were also having a sale that day. I took it as a sign.
Free for 500 megs no credit card required. See if you like it. For the person in the comments saying the great firewall is stopping your vpn try this one, lots of work being done to keep bypassing the wall
It really depends on what you want to use if for. For example, I may want services that are region-restricted and only let certain states or countries access their website's goodies (MLB.tv, Netflix, Youtube). Then it would be important for me to get a VPN that has international IP addresses. Speed is the most important factor for me. I can't have lagging for videos.
Demonstrable proof? Well, Hong Kong's firewall makes my VPN of choice stop functioning, so I'll take that as a sign that it's effective. Private Internet Access.
