The best sweet corn we've EVER had came out of our garden. Start the water boiling, then pick -n- shuck the corn, add to the now boiling water, ENJOY.

Gardens - nature's way of giving back

I remember my neighbors carrots when I was younger. I didn't know carrots could taste good.

[–] Fahrvergnaked 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

Best thing I ever ate was a carrot fresh out of the ground, (about 15 secs from ground to stomache) with a little of the dirt still on it.

[–] Aliwaali69 0 points 8 points (+8|-0) ago

Best corn out that garden i ever had was picked and eaten raw. Unbelivable.

[–] vintagedaisy 0 points 10 points (+10|-0) ago

You just brought back memories from when I was a kid. Used to eat raw seeet corn right out in the garden. Pro tip- don’t get too carried away or you’ll be able to shit through a screen lol

[–] Blunt_Echo 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Most people have no idea how good raw corn is; no butter needed. Of course, you need one of the medium-sweet or super-sweet varieties. I've been planting Bodacious for decades.

[–] KVD 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

You should wait till it's cooked before picking corn.

It really is awesome! Tomatoes seem to be the gateway drug for most.

[–] Glenn007 1 points 11 points (+12|-1) ago

We grew Roma's for several years. Gave them to (Italiano) neighbor. Had THE BEST EVER pasta sauce returned. Missed him when he passed away. :-(

[–] Artofchoke 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Was for me! I've harvested and fermented "flavor bomb" seeds. Got the fruit from Sam's Club, interested to see how it'll work out, cause they're fuckin amazing and I'd eat them every day. ♡

[–] Doglegwarrior 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

I planted one of the small tomatoe plants the ones that are the size of big grapes. I never did anythjng and the fuckkng thing grew into a monster plant. Used to go out and just get 10 or so to snack on it literaly got to fuckkng big. Not sure what was going on either super soil or had some unknown water source.

[–] Blunt_Echo 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Tell me about it! I plant 4-6 varieties every year to get a mix. I refuse to eat the plastic tomatoes from grocery stores and those served in restaurants.

[–] FreeRebel 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

That is correct! The sugars are still sweet right after picking. They turn within 15 minutes.

[–] Gladers 1 points 13 points (+14|-1) ago

Im a dirty capitalist spending my money at grocery stores for their inferior product

[–] marmulak 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago

I was gonna say... real communists would grow their own produce

[–] CameraCode0 0 points 7 points (+7|-0) ago

No, real communists would starve to death or have someone else grown their food for them. National socialists would grow their own food.

They tried and were killed for not sending it to the cities. True story.

i kill non gardenders

[–] ruck_feddit 0 points 8 points (+8|-0) ago

Alright goats, at least get some chives on your windowsill. I'd rather die than eat a baked potato without chives.

[–] FreeRebel 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Just today I brightened up a chicken salad with chives I cut yesterday.

[–] zyklon_b 1 points 1 points (+2|-1) ago

only gays not like chives

My seeds have been started in house, the ground is warming up, soon I will be tilling. Garden is 40 x 60. I have not purchased veggies from the store in 5 years. I canned 270 jars last year. Looking forward to a BLT with tomatoes that smell and taste real.

Hoping this year to finally get a greenhouse built so I can plant some dwarf orange trees.

[–] armday2day 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

Does this account outperform your real account in terms of upvoats?

[–] ruck_feddit 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

I'd like to believe this is @NosebergShekelman's real account and have zero evidence to suggest otherwise. His (highly upvoated) existence is supremely confusing to leftists here to investigate us.

Squash , okra and green beans all up. Tomatoes coming along nicely. Peppers blooming. Gonna be a good year.

[–] sosat_menya_reddit 0 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago

Dragon fruit, peaches, figs, bananas, grapes, tomatoes, sweet peppers, ghost peppers, green beans, onions, potatoes, watermelon, zucchini, Christmas melon, shit I can’t even remember what else.

I bring home seeds from all over the world and most of them produce better than the seeds I can buy at home.

[–] middle_path [S] 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

That's awesome. Damn shame you weren't part of the seed swap earlier this year!
