I guess the question goes, how 'human' is the robot? If it's basic enough to simply feed it and make sure it grows, then when a human arrives it will quickly realize all the other aspects that the robot doesn't have.
Now if the robot is very human in behavior, I would suppose it's exoskeleton would be the difference. If the robot has an outer skin later, then the answer to your question is: It wouldn't.
