That it's unhealthy to be fat and to eliminate the Fat Acceptance Movement

Fat people are one of the reasons I hate flying. If you can't put the armrest down because you're too big you need to buy 2 seats plain and simple.

So you want food system reform in the United States.

People don't realize that thin privilege exists. If someone is anorexic they are treated like they have a disease and/or a mental disorder, and given help, but if someone is obese they just act as if it is acceptable.

I agree. I can respect a person who is fat (being one myself,) but to think that you're healthy when your morbidly obese is just delusional.

That everybody would use their turn signals.

I always do. The absolute worst are those assholes that change lanes and then decide to put the blinker on for the turning only lane...they're already in the damn turning lane, where else are they going!

I don't know if you ride a motorbike but I have a special hate for those people who don't indicate where they are going. Are you TRYING to murder me? Because if so a gun or a knife might be faster than fucking running me down in your steel death box.

Companies publicly releasing wages for all employees.

There are three large groups whose wages are public, government, professional athletes, and top execs of public companies. I'm going to leave government employees out of this because while their pay may not be too notch they have the benefit of a defined benefit retirment plan which is otherwise now unheard of.

Athletes pay is more or less widely available and execs at public companies is required and both use that information to compare against their peers in future negotiations. I believe that if we were to make lower level positions information more openly available it would inherently force wages to become more competitive. This would help combat the problems associated with minimum wage and provides midlevel employees the ability to negotiate raises better than the standard inflation 3%.

The releasing of wages for top execs was set up initially to use it as a form of public shaming to reduce their pay, but when you can go into your company and say hey this guy is getting more than me and his company is doing worse than we are, results in the exact opposite of the originally intended result.

To treat retail and service employees like full fledged human beings.

I am continually surprised how much better/competent the service is when I:   + treat the customer service people with respect   + assure them the problem isn't the end of the world and I while maybe not satisfied with until there is a resolution, I am not trying to ruin their day over it   + remember their names and thank them when they have been helpful. (and if they weren't helpful, calmly and politely ask to be escalated)  *

My sister did customer service for American Express and the abuse she told me she was subjected to made me vow to always do my part to treat service industry professionals with respect.

Agreed! I worked retail and in the restaurant area for years through high school and college. Now that I am finally out of that hell hole, I always make it a point to be polite. I know how much that job sucks, I'm not going to be a bitch for no reason.

I'm with you. working in a restaurant and a grocery store through high school, I learned to be respectful to everybody in a uniform. I was lucky enough to never meet a seriously angry customer, but I found that even dealing with nice people can be stressful, so I always try my best to make my time with retail workers easier for them.

As a former retail employee all I would ask is this from the corporate level. Treat your employees like you care about them and you'll do a better job, it costs literally nothing.

If I'm forced into a cubicle or only cubicles are available I pee on the poop bits others leave behind in an attempt to try and remove them. I do my duty. Don't ask more of me.

I'd love to see that but unfortunately it seems impossible. If someone's an asshole and decides to piss and shit all over the toilet seat I can't see anyway that they'd be stopped or even coerced into behaving like a normal human being.

I know it's tough. After that, (A) don't have to poop, and (B) don't add to the mess. Nothing else you can really do in that situation. You could tell a janitor I suppose.

Eliminate zero tolerance.

Yep. Eliminate the lack of consequence of no judgement. You don't suspend two kids for fighting. You figure out which dipshit started it and you let the kid who was defending his/her self from assault and battery alone.
