I agree it's just about impossible to tell if someone is rich or poor by what they are wearing. I would have never made the argument that the invading caravan looks too well dressed to be poor.

Instead I would make the argument that we cannot tell anything about them by looking at their clothing. We need to have them go to an embassy or get a visa like normal people do in the 21st century to find out who they are because there are so many possibilities.

  • If they are wearing rags they could be wonderful people who would make a great addition to our country.

  • If they are wearing expensive suits they could be escaped convicts who stole the clothes while robbing a high end residence.

  • If they are wearing average clothes like healthy everyday Americans, they could be contagious lepers or hospital escapees with ebola.

We have no idea who they are. Clothes are seldom a good way to make an evaluation of someone's character. So let's strike this from the convo and just say we don't want anyone to come across the border without going through proper channels even if they're wearing italian suits or they're in chanel and dripping with diamonds.

For all we know these people have bombs in their backpacks and strollers. I don't actually think they do, but we don't know for sure unless someone looks in each backpack or stroller do we?

I don't care what they're wearing. I don't care what color their skin is. I do care if they're freeloaders coming for gibs. I do care if they're invaders who are part of isis. I do care if they were released from prison and sent to the US because they are serial killers or rapists. I do care who we let roam our streets. You should care, too.

These people all look like shit. Exactly what I expect poor people to look like.
