It's easy to do something just once. But to do the same thing day after day in order to complete a project, learn a skill, or better yourself seems impossible in my current state.

Set short-term goals instead of focusing on the end result. Actually, set a short term goal, just one, and connect it with something you already do everyday. For example, I've been learning French with an app called Duolingo. I use it just after waking up. I'm hoping I'll be able to hold up a conversation when I go to France in 2-3 years. I could tell myself "I'll learn French within the next 2-3 years," but it seems easier to just say "I'll do a French lesson on Duolingo when I wake up." It's easier to get something done when you mentally connect it with something you already do.
