Hero worship, stupidity, and ignorance of history. I mean Voat, not Hitler. He could probably be accused of those same things.

He was a failure and that's about it.

Please tell me again how killing 20.000.000 Slavs made the world a better place .

Same reason George Washington is considered some great general. Hero worship.

Washington was so stupid that his entire command was captured by the British, after which they felt bad because of how stupid he was to encamp them all in a closed in valley and let them all go.

He did pretty well considering the overwhelming odds he was facing. Germany had 80 million people at the time. Russia had so many more. That is just one side of the war. On the other side of Germany was the US and the Brits with a lot more productive power than Germany. When you have the to strongest nations in the world coming at you from both sides, it's hard not to fail.

Considering most of Germany's losses were incurred because of the Eastern Front, that is not to say that the allies were not a danger, but they were certainly not the most pressing matter. And with Great Britain you had a crumbling Imperial Monarchy with many of its holdings being captured by the Empire of Japan, arguably facing even more losses than Hitler by circumstances beyond it's control (Not that I'm excusing Arthur Percival, just look up that sorry piece of shit). And with the United States facing two wars simultaneously as well, (In fact the Japs took far more lives than the Germans) its clear Germany wasn't incurring foes at the zenith of their potential strength.

And with Russia, you had not only at the beginning a fairly unexpected surprise by most of Russia's armed forces, you also had what was in terms of combatants a considerable amount of drafted, poorly trained, and poorly equipped enemy soldiers. The main flaw that Hitler had made in the Eastern Front besides making it in the first place, was spending so much money on experimental military pet projects rather than tried and true military tech. Look at the Schwerer Gustav and tell me that was a logical decision, with the sheer amount of panzers that could have been manufactured in its place. And you look at the Soviets who were spent most of their manufacturing power into most of their already designed and war capable vehicles and other various armaments.

As I've said I have nothing against Hitler's economic policies, but there are so many poor decisions he made throughout the war, that I can't with good conscious agree with his military decisions as so many others have.

It's easy for us to look back and say something was a bad decision. I don't think Hitler anticipated the nations west of him going full Jew on him. If the Germans were left to fight nothing but a war to the east, they might have won.

So we say he wasn't expecting the West to go full jew on him when had the Japanese as allies who loved to be far more expansionistic and aggressive than Hitler himself (Look at Pearl Harbor and their incursions against Great Britain.). But we don't talk about when he attacked a pro-Zionist Union which had some of the harshest punishments towards anti-Semites, and incurred a vast majority of his losses from it. I understand the whole fighting multiple nations argument for Hitler, but most of the big ticket contenders of WW2 were fighting multiples enemies at once. Hell the U.S lost a majority of its men in the Pacific from the fucking Japs, saying that the West went full Jew on Hitler is a tad excessive.

The USA wasn't a definite factor. Also, I think he was expecting Japan to force the USSR to fight on both sides. Have you ever played Axis and Allies? If you're the Axis powers, you have to crush the USSR from both sides and take them out of the fight. Japan didn't do that in real life and decided to start shit with the USA.
