I personally think the f1 & h1b programs need to be shut down as well. No more pajeets stealing our jobs. More seats open for college students looking for middle class jobs.

Companies just use the H1B visa program to import low wage tech workers. It's not good for US tech workers and not good for the foreigners coming here either as they're treated like indentured servants. The whole H1B program needs deleted.

I have only seen the H-1B visa program used appropriately by one company. We lived in an extremely rural area, and the company needed engineers. They interviewed well over a year and made offers which no one accepted because of the location. This particular company happens to have factories in other countries. They extended an offer to one of their Irish employees to work at their rural US plant. Irish employee accepted... don't think he quite understood just how big the u.s. is nor just how far from any major metro that village was. I believe the wages were comparable.

Tell me fellow goats how you feel about this scenario. I promise it is true.

Edit: this is an on going problem for them if there are any out of work industrial/mech engineers with a background in quality here willing to move to the backwoods.

I'm in my junior year of Industrial engineering and my goal is to move somewhere extremely rural. I wouldn't dream of asking you to dox yourself but would gladly apply to your company upon graduation.

Personally, I feel like it's an annoying advantage that a global company can offer to move a worker (that's an advantage that the American Only company does not have). On top of that I'm wondering if the pay was enough to lure anybody out there? Throw enough money at the problem and you'll probably catch somebody.

any out of work industrial/mech engineers with a background in quality

If it was just a clerical position I'd be there. Have maintained the books on a large welding project (>20k welds) before, but couldn't tell the difference between a good weld and a shit job. Paid better then IT and I liked the people a lot more.

Two of my friends companies stopped renewing their H1Bs and they were both major abusers of that system. Maybe (hopefully) something is changing with that.

[–] boredTech 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

That's not really stopping much. As long as infosys, tata, etc. are able to pull the majority of workers and then use them as consultants nothing is changing there.

More than likely they have better remote communication set up to monitor them working over there so less need to bring them here. Just ship an experienced dev over once in a while to directly monitor

Companies will outsource anyways.

0
7

[–] boredTech 0 points 7 points (+7|-0) ago

If that was the case they would be doing it right now. There are tons of jobs which need warm bodies here, and are filled by pajeets.

[–] no-hurry-no-pause 0 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago  (edited ago)

No they wont. Since the whole point of outsourcing is reimporting, once theyre not allowed to reimport, outsourcing will not be considered profitable and will stop.

Imports and trade in general should only be allowed for goods which the local markets can not produce for some reason other than current profitability. As soon as there is no import, everything will become profitable to produce locally if there is local demand.

Companies are just fine, and work to the benefit of their communities.

End the welfare state and you’ll end immigration

[–] no-hurry-no-pause 2 points 19 points (+21|-2) ago  (edited ago)

I'd rather end the welfare state than immigration.

The people who want the welfare state are the same people advocating immigration because they know immigrants will help them vote for more welfare. Immigrants are fresh recruits in the leftist free shit army.

Immigrants dont have to be thrown out because they are abusing the welfare state, they have to be thrown out because they are helping the welfare state.

I doubt Donald Trump will do that, considering his wife Melania Trump is an immigrant.

[–] psimonster 0 points 6 points (+6|-0) ago

Melania Trump is not in a constant state of immigration. Stopping immigration for the next twenty years merely prevents the US from taking in new immigrants during that time and does not mean deportation of those already naturalized.

So?

Stopping immigration NOW does not imply throwing out current immigrants.

That comes later.

No imports? Sure if your country has all the resources, all the production capabilities for derived goods etc. it needs then yeah, it could be considered an option. Though there would still be other products that you just can't (or aren't allowed to) create on your own. Another question would be whether the country's internet should be isolated from the rest of the world as well?

No immigrants etc. fine, if you believe that's the correct course of action, then you're free to enforce those rules.

I personally am not a fan of fully isolating a country. I think fair trade with others is the way to go. This way you don't strain your own country too much and allow some room for specialization and excellence. I would allow a limited amount of immigrants, provided they have a sound reason. Refugees and other people that just want to move into the country will have to follow a trajectory to become naturalized, in the meanwhile they will receive asylum in closed centers. Those centers will provide courses on the local languages, culture etc. Where possible people will be given community service for a certain minimum fee. They will be free to leave the center during the day, for community service etc. but will have to check in in the evening. Failing to do so will alert the police. If they get caught on criminal activities during their asylum phase they will get deported, not just a paper saying they have to leave the country. They get placed in separate closed centers and will be on a plane the next day.

I feel a certain responsibility for accepting refugees from countries where your own military is active while not at war with the country. Like several countries are now actively fighting in Syria while not in a state of war with Syria. Those refugees would be more likely to get asylum though not without proper checks.

EDIT: just to clarify. Naturalization doesn't mean they have to lose their own identity, only the parts that are incompatible with the local law. They're free to keep their own religion, uses etc. but they'll have to respect the local culture. The same respect would be requested from the locals as well.

But doesn't the US need China's help on North Korea? Is it wise to get into a trade war with China now? Even Trump says Chinese cooperation helped bring North Korea to the peace table.

I'm more concerned with nigger crimes and Mexican immigration giving the Democrats so many votes, they just win constantly and turns America into a one party state.

Sure unfair trade deals means less money for Americans but if amensty passes again then its all over for conservatives in every political area e.g. gun rights, property rights, economic rights, traditional gender roles, etc.

[–] winfieldscott 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago  (edited ago)

Not me. Look the US is the only country in the world that cares about "fair." It's a Judeo-Christian justice thing.

The Chinese laugh at fair. They literally have a culture which prides itself on deception, subterfuge, and trickery in general, and especially in dealing with foreigners..

Not really trying to pick on your post specifically but there's a boat load of misinformation on this site about this topic so sorry if this seems like i'm attacking your personally.

The U.S. is no better then most countries in terms of fair trade, once a government starts to subsidize things it completely shit all over the way the Free Market is supposed to work by artificially lowering prices the more popular example nowadays thanks to the media is how China screwed with steel prices killing competition and how Trump is trying to offset that (though some argue his tariffs aren't making China's steel cost market price but actually make CN Steel cost more then market average to fulfill his campaign promise he made to the masses about sticking it to China).

Now then everyone can sit around and agree that what Trump is attempting to do the tariff steel is generally fair. But the misinformation that comes about on this site is that tons of other countries are pulling the wool over the U.S. by using unfair tarifs on the US.

You have to realize what we condemn China for doing to the Steel market the U.S. does in quite a few other markets we subsidize the hell out of Farming and meat production and have been doing it since before the great depression. And other countries are basically forced to put tariffs on multiple U.S. exports because otherwise our subsidized markets would flood their markets akin to what Chinese Steel is doing. And this gets complicated even more by how states hand out subsidies along side federally handed out Subsidies. Boeing managed to secure roughly 10 billion from just State governments over the course of a few years imagine how much you could drop prices if you were given 10 billion dollars to use to lower production costs. And now think about how the hell a rival company in Europe or Asia who isn't subsidized is supposed to be able to compete with Boeing without Tariffs.

Now then i'm not trying to make U.S. out to be the bad guys because we are pretty far from it, more so my point is that every country pulls this shit. U.S. is more middle of the road for this i guess as there are some countries that are just too poor to subsidize their local companies like major countries do and too internationally weak/lacking in influence so they don't dare put Tariffs on bigger countries so i guess they are technically the most fair. And then you have countries that are like China where they don't give two poops about intellectual property and their markets are pretty much dictated by their government.

It's a Judeo-Christian justice thing.

What does religion have to do with fair trade?

The Chinese laugh at fair.

True, and that's why in a situation like this you can come up with countermeasures to protect your own trade and nation. Fair trade should come from both sides otherwise it's not fair. If one side isn't playing it fair, simply stop trading with them or enforce countermeasures to compensate for the economical damage.

Edit: fucked up my quotes, should be fixed now

Unrealistic and implausible though the core idea is understandable.

Ultimately, if border laws were simply enforced and illegal aliens sent home CONSISTENTLY free-loaders would get the message handily and there'd be zero need to go full lockdown.

The illegal alien problem is perpetuated and encouraged for a variety of political reasons by the Democrat Party and its California henchman who peddle illegals and poor like crack cocaine. These listless lost souls serve far too many purposes for the neo-Marxist media/political machine which is intent on degrading America into a boarded-up has-been lorded over by a cabal of ultra-wealthy Socialist elites.

We have a nation where every fucking day for years and years ACTUAL American citizens are busted for all sorts of shit like the wrong pills in a car glove box and tossed into the slammer for a few years (or even more) and their kids of all ages handed over to pretty much anybody while currently an army of professional moaners weep and gnash teeth about a few hundred kids on the border separated from their moron parents for knowingly trying to break into a goddamn country.

When things start to make sense in this world I'm probably going to be ancient dust.

That also mean no exports, no travel, no tourists, no cruise ships.

The closing goes both ways.

I don't know.

I think that would be a bad deal in the short run, frustrating as all hell in the long run, and untenable in terms of freedom and frustration.

Our exports are nearly inconsequential right now. Travel? To moslem infested shitholes? Eastern Europe is ok. Cruise ships will find places to go, don't worry. Just keep the booze flowing on board . . .
