Am I just being too close minded or does anyone else find it irritating and get turned off from companies when reading a job posting, and in the daily tasks they have:
"Defend your team against a Nerf Gun infiltration by another (company) team"
Just randomly thrown into the tasks list.
It's for an engineering role and every one of their job posts has that phrase thrown in there. It immediately turns me off bc my first thought is a bunch of liberals who don't want to focus and work. Like they're trying to imitate their perception of Google or Facebook work place.
Am I just a stick in the mud or would this turn you off from a job too? It's not a glamorous company, just a design-house more or less. Maybe it's just that their HR rep is delusional and thinks that will attract people when in reality no one there gives a shit about it?
I also hate reading about "company culture". I don't give a shit, I just want a place where people do their jobs and don't sidestep responsibilities.
