Vaccination affects the health of everyone around. The others that were listed don't. I can't speak for all schools, but mine also had mandatory PE

Yeah this. One fat person goes go Disneyland =/= everyone at Disneyland gets fat. One unvaccinated person with polio shows up, that's a completely different story.

This is the correct answer, especially because it can affect children who are too young for some vaccinations.

yes this dude stole my post, public health is more important, its harder and more expensive to control an empidemic than to deal with the death or health problems of single individuals since it may mostly affect themself.

Diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke and heart disease are non-communicable conditions. That is to say, they cannot impact the physiological health of the general public.

On the other hand, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, and others are communicable. This makes them a public health concern, which is why the government has an interest. Slow suicide is not the government's concern. And even if it were, unless it represents an imminent threat the the general welfare of the larger population, they have no authority.

The implied hypothetical here is a municipally managed mandatory fitness program. The government has no authority to mandate how we care for our bodies.

Your question actually highlights the legislative folly of banning medical procedures like abortion, and physician-assisted suicide.

You can't force people to be fit. . . Until I take control. When I am Czar PE in school and at work and proper eating habits will be mandatory, count on it.

On top of everything else and ideological arguments aside, its just not practical. Line everyone up and give them a shot is a one time ordeal. How the fuck do you monitor everyone's exercise outside of actual 1984?

Because everything you listed is not contagious, but refusing to get vaccinated puts those around you at risk by increasing the chance that you will become ill and spread it to others

Wow I've never thought of that. I guess other people can't catch diabetes, whereas not being vaccinated can affect other people around you.

Much easier to bully kid's folks . Harder to bully the adults. Also how does one force another person to exercise? I can't even get my Hubby to exercise not to mention a total stranger..Also who cares what the other people are doing? I just care about my Hubby & our clan & friends- the other people are ok but I don't really care what they do.

Because you're free to kill yourself slowly, but you aren't free to infect others because you're too ignorant to vaccinate.
