Bitchute for a direct, better YouTube parallel with multiple themes.

Full30 is where many YouTube gun channels are moving.

Thanks for pointing out Full30. Exactly what I was looking for. Fuck you YouTube

It would be nice if the top people said fuck it and left YT.

Semi-decentralized:

BitChute

  • May be shadowbanning content, see https://archive.fo/kWHld (do your own research, this info could be out of date/flat-out wrong)
  • Uses WebTorrent for decentralization

DTube

  • Monetized through the cryptocurrency Steem
  • Uses IPFS for decentralization

PeerTube

  • Federated via ActivityPub
  • Uses WebTorrent for decentralization

Other:

HookTube

  • youtube-dl wrapper/GUI
  • Use with an open-source redirection extension for convenience -- Chrome example

Note that there are several fully centralized platforms that are either topic-specific or give creators more monetization options.

Is Hooktube open-source? I can't find it on Github.

Unfortunately not (and also be aware it uses Cloudflare). Functionally, it's a wrapper/GUI for the command line based youtube-dl which is.

Do any of these allow automatic channel import from Youtube?

The internet's reliance on centralised platforms has to end ASAP.

popchest.com are building out a youtube alternative that they say will pay people 1c per view, which is way more than youtube.

A good option would be to install a video downloader (most browsers have them as an addable extension) and try to grab as many gun videos from youtube as you can. That's what I'm in the middle of. I figure that once they go down I can download videos from the non-gun channels I watch and then cut ties with YT as an added bonus.

I use mostly hooktube.com, but here's the ones I have bookmarked. And I need to go through it since vid.me is no more...

Hooktube.com is a nice gesture, but all your visits are routed through google to fetch the video from there.

@VoutGuy @Swack_ correct me if I'm wrong.

Allegedly, it is all proxied.

I just made the sub. Yes it must interact with ytube to get the videos, but doesn't give 'views'.
