What weekly guitar thread are you talking about? When is Neil Young's music from?
Thinking about the Nirvana Album Bleach and how it was released in 1989.
Soundgarden also has the Ultramega OK album and it was released in 1988.

LOL In another lifetime, I was a professional musician - it was my second job and I was never very famous, though I've played with some pretty famous people. So, I host a weekly guitar thread in v/guitar. I just unstickied it - but I'll be opening a new one in about 30 minutes. I'm just setting up for it now.
Both of those albums would be considered grunge. Neil Young is from the 60s, but still plays today. He helped bands like Pearl Jam get their start and was very much a figure in the grunge movement. The album Mirror Ball has him and Pearl Jam on there together, for example.
Hmm... Allow me to introduce you to him:

OMG COOL, thanks going to go bootleg one of his albums now! For some reason 70's rock and early 90's grunge sound similar.
Mirror Ball is going to be it. :) What's your favorite grunge band, if you have one? My two favorite are Soundgarden and Pearl Jam.
