It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it. -- Aristotle

I used to be atheist but eventually I learned that closing my mind to other ideas (especially when so many people believe different things) did not help me learn. Now I'm agnostic and find it fun to learn about others beliefs and why they believe. I don't try anymore to counter their beliefs with "the fossil records" and "carbon dating." If they ask, I can tell them. It's easier for me not to have strict beliefs on the origin of time and the origin of life since there is still much more to discover. Why limit your thoughts when you don't know everything?

I was raised southern baptist but I have been told my thoughts fall closer to secular humanism. I do still think a higher power exists however I also think that it's beyond the scope of our life to know what that power is. We can define it, box it up and sell it however we like but we will never really know for sure. I'd rather live my life like the best person I know how to be rather than worry about what's going to happen when that life is over. When you start living your life to be "a good person" you will find yourself following many paths that are not clearly marked in a single book of thought.

The Bible to me is not a book of strict rules, it's a guide to a way of thinking. A collections of lessons. The first lesson you should learn before reading it is that its a collection of stories told, retold, written and rewritten by man and king. These players all have agendas to push. With that in mind you should feel free to reject the stories that do not offer insight.

Gravity is the curvature of space time
