So this is a question about employment preferences. I used to work for very large companies, mostly in the Fortune X range. But eventually I snapped. The demoralizing, and faceless bureaucracy became too much. Furthermore, i felt like we spent more times in meetings, and doing useless work, to get random people a pat on the back. Now, I find that smaller, private companies are much more nimble and much easier to integrate into. With a lower or non-existent HR, and more granularity in the work, you can own a project. Weirdly getting mixed results though. A lot of boomers(Mostly managers and non function related people) complain that company brand name matters a lot, but a lot of younger millennials, say that job title and job functions matter more. So now I'm trying to figure out which is better: Staying in a company you hate for the brand name and prestige, or going towards a company you enjoy working at, and foregoing the brand name.
