Yes! It's such an accepted thing to take loans on things we can't afford and don't need. A big one is cars. Many people could easily pay for a cheaper car in cash or at least with a MUCH smaller loan. It may not have blue tooth and leather seats and the fastest motor, but you won't have a freaking car payment! Think about how much interest you'd save across your life!

Prohibition as the correct way of dealing with anything.

You are so right. We want to prevent teenage pregnancies and abortion? Let's ban sex ed and promote abstinence. People are overdosing on Heroin? Let's ban all drugs and put people in prison for life. It makes no sense. The same people who legalized alcohol because the prohibition didn't work did all of this, and it is quite hypocritical.

Being a fat fuck and a leach on society.

Fat acceptance is one of the worst movements to ever really be popular over the last few years.

It's like we have a smoking acceptance movement or something, it's pretty ridiculous.

Exactly, we shouldn't have to accept people killing themselves through being gluttonous hogs

Fat acceptance is pretty shitty. We should all criticize anyone in a position of influence who perpetuates the idea that it is normal and healthy to be overweight or obese.

On the other side of the coin, fat shaming is equally unacceptable. It's pathetic and counterproductive. If anything, it just makes overweight people seek comfort in food and shitty talk shows that tell them their eating habits perfectly normal.

Anyone who thinks that bullying is a viable source of encouragement is very lost. They are little more than gluttons of hate, no better than the people they mock. They need help, and I wish that they could find some peace, to be honest.

I like food too, and as a former fatty I'm telling you that you will feel better if you lose weight. I still eat what I like I just find healthier options and eat less of it.

My mother and her husband are examples of this. He has diabetes and she has MS. Both of them are perfectly capable of working, but instead are leaches on society. The collect welfare, food stamps, and disability. Ugh it makes me angry just thinking about it. They are both large people.

MS in its later stages, in my opinion, is a completely legit disability. Yet some people believe it is a reason you can get fat, which is frustrating. It's literally as simple as eating less. It might be difficult to get around but seriously quit making up excuses when you can't put down the fork

In the US: Circumcision. "Sure, let's just cut the foreskin off a baby's penis for super-minor potential cleanliness issues in a first-world country with access to clean water and soap!" Shit is ridiculous.

Yeah, the bottom line is there just isn't any justification for cutting off any part of somebody's body without their consent.

Right? Why not just rip out their tonsils, pancreas, and pinky toes while we're at it? It's not like we need them.

Without my pinky toe how would I know where the coffee table is when I'm walking around in the dark?

Originally it was advocated by the crazy Kellogg brother (the eugenicist) for sexual hygiene--to dissuade boys from defiling themselves with masturbation. The medical rationale (which is still bullshit) appeared later.

I don't think this one is so much societally accepted as much as people think it's rare and won't happen to them, so it's not high on their priority of things to be outraged about. Either way, it's a terrible practice.

That with enough money you can buy your way out of crimes / If you are famous/rich the justice is least severe on you.

This is pretty much universally hated by society. The problem is not enough powerful people care to fix it and the rest of us don't have the power to do so.

[–] ARcard 0 points 1 points (+1|-0) ago

In my opinion the problem is not the lack of power to change it, but lack of interest, when the common people get too much of something, they start to protest / raise they voice and the changes come

Making the naked human body taboo. Just because something can be used for sex acts, doesn't mean it is unconditionally sexual in nature.

Like a cucumber. Or a rubber chicken. Not unconditionally sexual.
