Consumers already have all the rights here. Manufacturers can offer all the extended warranties they like or none at all, but our consumer law states an undamaged tv of reasonable age shall be replaced or refunded at the consumers wish. What that covers is the ol 'exploding 2 week past warranty televison set' bullshit. What it DOESNT cover is a tv with its screen kicked in or a 10 year old unit. The important part of it is 'REASONABLE'

Also now backed up by the fact that valve has now been raped by the high court of australia for not supplying useable software, refusing to refund customers that have unknowingly bought steam titles off the shelf at retail outlets THAT DO COMPLY, refusing to supply working game registration keys for software bought in retail stores (ive had this multiple times youre straight up told the legit retailer you have a receipt for are criminals selling pirated software) not marking steam software titles as such on the boxes so the customer doesnt realise its a steam title (deceptive advertising) giving them no choice, and various other things that make every eula on their website a work of amusing fiction and dreaming.
