I don't think I could ever get back into the habit of using C-Buttons to aim. The graphics I can handle, but the controls are just fucky.

Yep, I think this is the reason for me as well. I actually have an easier time playing turok 2 now, which used the c buttons to move and the analogue stick to aim.

this is so true.
it makes me fear going back to ocarina of time for the same reason

I replayed OoT on the 3ds and found that to be a great experience.

Ocarina actually holds up IMO. Especially the 3ds version which streamlined the ui a bit

OOT doesn't really feel that aged to me. Admittedly, I play it about once a year, so I never had too big of a gap in my play-throughs.

Still good, IMO. Has aged well enough.

nightfire and agent under fire are pretty good though, and they are pretty similar for the OG xbox

Tag.

I am far to old and fat to be any good at that anymore.

You should try Hide and Go Seek, way less running, still super fun.

The current version of the game forces everyone to get married. I did not like that one bit. It also has a flaw that allowed me to gain a "Life Tile" by having grandchildren when I had successfully managed to avoid having children along the way. Could not figure that one out.

I was sooo ready for driving. Little did I know my mom made me drive her back and fourth everywhere when I got my driving license. I now hate driving

Any game on the N64. Everything is blockier than I remembered.

There are a few that have actually aged pretty well. Pokemon Snap can be agonizingly slow at the start, but it's a really relaxed game that you can sink a lot of time into. One of my favorites, Snowboard Kids, is actually still a great game to play with friends. It's a fun twist on the mario-kart style racers that incorporates rudimentary snowboard tricks with a cheesy soundtrack. I still love that game.

Doom. I have no idea how I played it as a kid, you can't even look up.

Final Fantasy 7. The game looks nothing how I remembered it.

I’ve been playing it through for the first time (got to just past disc 1 before), and I have no problem with the æsthetics. I think it’s aged better than a lot of other games from around then. It does help that I’m playing the slightly-souped-up Steam version, with the sharpened assets and original music.

I used to play Sonic Adventure 2 Battle all the time with my next door neighbor when we were kids. We spent contest hours raising Chao's and I had so much fun.

Eventually we stopped talking and I didn't have a game cube so I couldn't play anymore. Many years later I got a dream cast emulator and tried to play but it wasn't the same. It just seemed so boring and pointless because I didn't have anyone else to share it with.

Sometimes things are better left as memories.

Same thing for me, SA2B was like the first game I really really got into as a kid. Picked it up at a local store a couple months ago the game is really bad, the only levels that aren't completely dull are the Sonic/Shadow levels and those consist of less than half the game.

With that said I did get sucked back into Chao Raising for a weekend.

Runescape. It was how I would spend my entire day, it was all about having fun, but now it's just pay-to-win and about grinding.

I made an account, played for a week and just couldn't find the same magic it offered 10 years ago. It's all grinding now

My friend started playing again, and when I asked him how it was going, the sadness on his face said more than his words.

I used to love playing Runescape with my step brother. It was my favorite game at the time and still one of the most memorable.

I heard that they've added in Runescape Classic, but I've yet to check it out.
