You must not know TBF's. This is impossible, they obsess over it. If cornered by the Fuck Trumpers, I simply rip headlines of his success from here et al & they go quiet. Load your gun heavy, they will tire.

This exactly. My father and I took a vow to never discuss politics with each other for fear of ruining our relationship.

This. Tell them you don't want to talk about it. If they absolutely insist, and only then, stay calm and still be ready to drop the conversation as soon as possible. It's not likely you'll be able to win them over with logical arguments.

You're going to have a bad time. And generally I would say just ignore them or say you don't want to talk about it. Let the family circle jerk each other. I know it's hard to bite your tongue, but you have to ask if it's worth it. If you just HAVE to discuss shit, the biggest things I have done when getting my friends to realize they are more conservative than they think is: 1) ask pointed questions about a specific topic, and don't let them change it/move the goal post, or answer in generalities. I.E. I understand the poorest of the poor need help sometimes, when do YOU think they should stop receiving assistance through tax dollars? Always ask in a POLITE and NON condescending way, and actually LISTEN to their answer (basically the opposite of voat). Then just keep asking questions based on their answer (take the time to sit and ponder their response and your next question/response), leading them to the LOGICAL answers that are USUALLY more conservative. 2) DO NOT BE SMUG and DO NOT IGNORE THEIR POINTS!!! This is super important. My friend told me why we he felt we should pay for welfare babies. And he based his entire argument on his child hood. And I was able to ask pointed questions (#1) based on his response. And walk him through his logical fallacies that were based on fee fees. This took months of random conversations. You will never change someone over night, and you will never win them over being an asshole. 3) FACTS FACTS FACTS. Drop the facts on them while using step one and two. Them: "I hate Trump because he's racist!" You "I hear that a lot, I must be out of the loop, what exactly has he done that's racist, because that's not cool." Them: Likely some made up bullshit. You: "Actually he won the Ellis award in 1986 for helping out the inner city, it was given to him by Rosa Parks and Muhammed Ali, so that's crazy. What else did he do?" You get the point. 4) Just tick away at it. It takes time to change someones entire view point, AND some people just have a different opinion on things than you. You want to stop giving money to the poor? Cool. Some people actually want to do that. And their view is just their vision of the world and what they want, you can't always change that.

Good luck nigger.

It is not for everyone. I mean seriously there have always been outliers in society that do it. But since it has become more main stream it has become more and more of a problomatic social issue.

you will never win them over being an asshole.

I reject this assertion. Being an asshole often gives them the impetus to prove you wrong. Simply making them think about the issue in such detail will cause them to understand how wrong they are.

Psychology doesn't work that way. When people feel attacked they turn to defensive mode. They'll find ways to justify and fortify their position, even if they're wrong. However, if they feel warmly invited to enter a new world, they may come inside.

I was red pilled by someone being an asshole, but it was a liberal family member. I always had conservative and liberal friends, but when this family member decided to punish me at Christmas for not sharing her beliefs I realized that most of the people I knew who would give you the shirt off their back were conservative, and the people that would use guilt trips, and use holidays to exact revenge even on family were liberals. Then I started noticing it around the neighborhood, too. The neighbors who would run over to help when your kid fell and got hurt were conservatives, and the fuckers that would call the city code enforcement every time a rose bush got a brown leaf were the liberals. That's what red pilled me.

So keep being an asshole, but you're just steeling their resolve to believe in their cause.

I had someone close to me bashing POTUS the first few months, I refused to engage and not wanting to fight, just would calmly point out things that they might not have been hearing about watching cnn. Eventually they stopped talking to me about that stuff since they knew I wouldn't go along with it. Now after a year of President Trump, they are 100% on the train. What I've learned (and is true about myself) is that people have strong opinions and won't change if they feel they are being attacked. If you can be calm as a quaker in your arguments and pretend you don't really care, people will be much more willing to listen. If you get loud and dramatic, expect your opponent/family to get loud and dramatic.

"Actually he won the Ellis award in 1986 for helping out the inner city, it was given to him by Rosa Parks and Muhammed" Almost, according to my googling, he won it, and was pictured https://www.truthorfiction.com/donald-trump-ellis-island-medal-honor/ with Parks and Al,i who also won the award. Parks and Ali did not present the award to him. It is still an excellent point, and I'd not known it until now. Thanks.

Yeah, you aren't going to immediately change minds by blowing them away with your prepared amazing logical argument. Like you said it takes time.

Gotta plant that seed and wait for it to grow.

Ask them what Obama did for blacks. Ask them if they think blacks were better off 9 years ago than they are today. You'll need quick access to a bunch of interviews with Trump because if you ask them for proof of what he did or said that was racist, you can play the whole clip. Their pride won't let them admit being wrong , but they will know.

When CNN cut the feed of Trump getting a shawl from the black community of Michigan, and the camera man said he'd take a demotion over it, I would question why that was never aired. If the "news" doesn't lie, they should have an answer ready and waiting.

The strategy of the left is to keep throwing accusations against Trump, so that people assume most of it is true even though none of it is.

Either don't get into any debate on politics or strive to make your points entirely through interpretive dance. It is just not worth the family drama. You are not going to change any minds and they aren't going to change yours. Just smile and nod or shrug as appropriate.

So here's a shitty but true red pill for you: the median IQ of black people in the USA is 83-85. So when you try to think of ways to defend your well reasoned viewpoints, remember that the statistical likelihood is that 15% of your family qualifies as retarded. Another 32% is borderline retarded. So nearly half your audience is already a lost cause because they lack the mental capacity to grasp what you're trying to convey. An additional 32% is less intelligent than the average normie, and we know how intellectually lacking the average person is.

That leaves you with about 1 in 5 people there, counting yourself, who might have the mental capacity to understand your points. So...just dont go to Thanksgiving, because genetics boned any chance you have to not be harassed by raging leftists.

Have to play to an emotional or selfish audience. Most of my family didn't vote for Trump because "he'll wreck the economy" and destroy their retirement.

As long as the economy keeps going up and unemployment stays low there's nothing to complain about that can't be blamed on local/state politicians (in which case we can claim that Trump will fix things if he's given a chance).

No. He just doesn't believe illegal immigrants should leech our welfare and keep wages low for the corporatists. And we SHOULD ban immigrants from every Islamic nation.

With truth. They say anything untrue or skewed, call them on it and show them the truth.

Also, flip it on them...have them defend their political beliefs. Ask them what Obummer did that made shit better? What do they mean when they say "common sense" gun laws? They will not have an intelligible answer, I promise.

And insist on one person at a time (so they don't gang up as they will).

OK yeah, who am I kidding.

Tell them you are smart enough to see through the control and bullshit Democrats want over everything. The founders of the KKK make false pormises and lie every election to woo gullible voters that will drink thier poison koolaid. They seek to belittle true accomplishments of diverse people by embracing quotas, affimative action and other methods to give preference when its not needed in todays culture. This eran of back in the bus 60s segregation is gone by over half a century, no reason to blame and guilt trip innocent people of today. Tolerance of intolerance/Islam is ignorance.
