Just got shadowbanned on reddit for telling the r/atheism moderators to kill themselves and subsequently adding them as approved submitters on r/kill_yourself
What gives them any right to ban me from the entire sight? Isn't it a bit ironic that a site that pushes free and open communities regularly removes users they don't see fit for the discussion.
Free speech cannot be achieved in a manner of moderation like this. Site moderators should not have authority over the status of user accounts.
Please for fucks we don't have this shit here either, right?

Outright ban with a warning system (to give a second chance and to explain the violation) should be the way to go. Moderators should ban whoever breaks their rules for their subs, but it should not be site wide.
Shadowbanning a real person for any reason is just shitty.

Agreed, site wide bans for gross violations are ok by me too, if Atko feels it's right.
