I feel like I could talk about video games all day long and still have plenty to say. haha.

Well, have you tried Civ V? I could play that all day and only be able to say, "One. More. Turn."

I have never heard of it. What are you playing it on?

I almost have to try and avoid Civ V just for that reason. 15 minutes turns into two and a half hours of clicking.

Tried it but asked for a refund, after so many hours invested in RTS's the pace of turn based games feels odd, like, why wait for others to move?! I want to make a move now!!

Would your rather be talking about video games, or playing them? Or talking about them while you're playing them (e.g. teamspeak)?

Honestly, all of it sounds pretty damn great. Sure beats sitting my ass down here at work! haha.

I've been a long time gamer on my PC, but my old age makes me more likely to sit on the sofa than in my office. I've tried hooking up my system to the TV, but the controls are difficult on the sofa. Sell me on which console I want, or which controller would work best on my PC.

You can easily go either way with PS4 or Xbox One. Personally, I'm more of an Xbox fan and have been for years. I feel like the online community is much better and has a better structure around it compared to Ps4. Don't get me wrong, each system has their own drawbacks and whatnot. I saw that Steam has a controller that's coming out.

Not just gaming, start up a conversation about The Last of Us, what Destiny should have been, what I see for the future of gaming, what's wrong with most FTP games and you've got a full blown conversation that can last an eternity. Can you imagine if Destiny had "No Man's Sky" level of freedom mixed with Halo quality of story telling?..........(Cries in the corner)

Sometimes I wonder what Destiny would have been like if one of the writers or whoever they were, didn't leave. I know they had to start over with a lot of their work.

Oh, and Dota 2.

Debian, CLI only. What's the best way to get my gaming off my Windows install and on to my Debian one?

[–] sakuramboo 0 points 0 points (+0|-0) ago

Main desktop is Ubuntu LTS. OpenELEC on one pi, Arch on another, Slackware on an old Dell laptop and an old IBM Thinkpad A21m, Arch on a Toshiba laptop, Kali on a Thinkpad T62.

I'm not really a distro fanboy. I use what works best for me for what I'm trying to do. And what works best for me doesn't always work best for others. Which is part of the reason why I detest all the "what distro should I use" posts.

What's your favorite hero? And how do you like Reborn so far?

[–] sakuramboo 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Death Prophet is always my favorite, but I also love playing Veng and I've been really getting used to Jakiro. I also love Bloodseeker. And Brewmaster. Luna is fun and with good mana regen is a great harasser. Omni is great when against physical damage heroes... Really, they are all great when used properly with the right line up and against the right line up.

I love Reborn, but it's still beta. Custom games are fantastic, but once it gets out of beta, more people will get in them.

I totally agree with being able to talk about Dota 2 all day. I don't even play it that much anymore, yet I could talk all the intricate mechanics for hours, for example.

Cars, which ones are better then others and why, the history of the manufacturers, pretty much anything automotive related I enjoy talking about.

Toyota or Honda, and why?

0
2

[–] rstrt 0 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago

Honda, because traditionally they've had more 'creature comforts' than Toyota in the same price range. They both make great engines (not fast ones, but tanks.) and reliable cars, so that's really all it comes down too.

Unless of course, we're talking NSX... In that case, I'd give my left testicle for them to bring it back. (The right one too if they'd give me one for it.)

I have a Honda and my mom has a Toyota. I prefer Honda because I feel it has a higher quality interior. I know nothing about cars though.

If you had to recommend a dependable and relatively affordable car, what would be your go to and why?

Honda civic is hard to beat, it's affordable, reliable and safe.

Math more specifically the philosophical side of mathematics. Unfortunately, there are few takers.

Also comedy, I really enjoy comedy, and could rant endlessly, about what I love and or why I think a particular thing doesn't work.

Liberty and the Constitution. I do not know how this came about, I hated Govt classes in school. But for some reason, I can discuss it for hours.

There was something personally very liberating about realizing that I can absolutely abhor what another individual is doing, but as long as it isn't hurting anyone else, then they should be able to do it.

It has also made me lose a lot of my pre-concieved notions about things. I try to debate intelligently and there have been any number of times where I was looking to back up a strongly held opinion and just couldn't find a way to. It just didn't hold up, so I had to examine it and see if it was worth continued support.

Talking politics has really forced me to self evaluate a lot of my positions on issues. It made me realize that I really have to have a full understanding of an issue if I'm going to argue my views on it regardless of whether I'm right or wrong. Either way you gotta understand your side of it, because people will pick you apart.

Tattoos and their method of application always amaze me. The fact that we inject ink into ourselves but also that the ink does not break down is awesome.
