Some laws about phone use and eating/drinking/etc. while driving went into effect where I am recently.
I've got mixed feelings. On one hand, it pisses me off for the man to tell me I can't text and drive, but on the other hand, traffic deaths are increasing and a large fraction involve phone use or other distracted driving. I'm not sure this is really any worse that DUI laws (which I also have mixed feelings about, but support more than this).

What's your justification for the notion that driving is a privilege? Who has the authority to say I can't drive and what gives them that authority?

The laws of basically every land out there. If you're gonna argue the whole "Freeman on the Land" shit, there's no point in conversing about it.

Asserting something is a privilege rather than a right requires a better justification than "governments already regulate it".
