Yes if you break the law you go to jail. You have a better solution for murderers and rapists? It's better than a lynch mob. The problem isn't that people are being put in jail. It's that people are breaking the law. You can't separate behavior from both genetics and environment. It's either their shitty genetics (a hypothesis I tend to reject) or their shitty culture (one that I tend to support). I don't have an issue with white people in jail and neither do most white people. That is why whites are significantly more likely to aid in investigations. You're chasing symptoms not treating the disease.

In the first comment I made I proposed adding the word ..."violent"crime... I'm really just looking for ideas because I'm somewhat involved in the strike.

There are no short term solutions. I can't honestly look at a 35 year old violent offender whose spent half his life in jail and tell them that any political solution will make his life better. While prison conditions are not what they should be there is no short term solution IMO. The solution is long term and its cultural. I don't have a whole lot of sympathy for people in prison. They broke the law. While that doesn't remove their human dignity, the only workable solution is to stop crime before it starts. After the age of 25 your personality is essentially fixed. While I know this may sound cruel given your background, I don't know of a real workable solution. To me the only workable solutions involve breaking the cycle of poverty not normalizing crime.
