I am planning to format my pc and do a dual boot Linux / Windows 7 setup. I haven't used Linux for a while (Ubuntu was pretty popular back then). In your opinion, what is the best Linux right now and why?

Correct, but I don't usually suggest Debian to someone coming from Windows because it's not that easy to use compared to "for idiots" distros.
