Apart from TPP? Some media coverage on corrupt politicians would be a dream come true. Imagine if enough awareness was raised for people to realize how their representatives don't represent them, imagine all the good we would accomplish afterwards.

I Agree

I really like the platform they use and I believe this could actually create change and a movement to correct the system the supports corruption.

IMO, TPP should be all over the news. The process, the leaked information, potential impact on citizens and governments, everything. Even here in Australia we are getting more news about the SCOTUS decision than TPP.

As an american, this is the first I've heard of the Trans Pacific PArtnership. I saw someone saying "TPP" a couple days ago but I have no idea what the fuck that means so I just thought it was bs internet jargon. I'll have to look into it I guess.

I think we all know that it is not our media.

Yet none know what to do about it.
I see no one boycotting the main media.

EDIT: Grammar.

I think the same entity that pills Washington's strings is pulling the media's strings as well. Some entity with a lot of money.

I am very worried about the situation with Greece. If they exit the EU it could seriously effect the world economy.

Greece was another media hype.
Nothing, or almost nothing, will change outside EU by Greek exit. Little will change inside EU, except for Greek citizens themselves and tourists/visitors.

Today, the SSM ruling. As a gay man it's a huge thing for me. It may not affect most peoples day to day lives, but 13 year old me who was just figuring out he was gay could never see this happening in only ten years. Let us have this day to celebrate.

The TPP needs a lot of attention otherwise.

  • TPP by a longshot. This will hurt American citizens more than anything else since NAFTA and no one sees it coming because there's a media blackout
  • White collar crime
  • NSA and the continued spying on of American citizens
  • Actual crime statistics. Most Americans wouldn't think that their child, if missing, is only 0.1% likely to abducted by a stranger. 97% of the time the kid just ran away from home. Instead the media focuses on the 0.1% of stranger danger cases and it turned an entire generation of parents into paranoid helicopters.

Where can I learn more about the TPP without getting too in-depth? (Not looking for a tldr, also not looking to read the agreement).

You'll probably be glad to find out that you CANNOT READ THE TPP AGREEMENT. That's probably the single biggest problem, it has been developed in secret and the Obama administration is trying to get it on a fast track approval where we don't get to see it until it's too late. What we know about it comes from old wikileaks data, which shows that it would take away rights from participating nations in areas of employment law and patent protections, specifically blocking the production of low cost drugs in and for poorer countries, giving them to pay higher prices.

How about the fact that our money supply is manipulated in such a way that the lower 90% by income have orders of magnitude less wealth than they would under and honest monetary system while their labor and time is stolen from them invisibly by an unsympathetic an amoral social machine. That is the ultimate issue that no one (except maybe Ron Paul, et al., but they're just crazy, amirite?! /s) is willing to talk about because understanding the intricacies of the issue takes time and effort.
