So... this was a big thing on [redacted], how if you posted something and people like it, it was well received. HOWEVER if anyone ever noticed that you were affiliated with it? Hate, calls of spam, and removal.
I get we don't want this place to turn into a spamfest, however we already have mechanics to prevent that, more so here since CCP and SCP regulate activity. If your stuff is downvoated, it'll fall to the bottom and get removed, along with your abilities to post more. There needs to be some balance but as a mid-level content creator I hate the double standard, and I bet a lot of others do to. People who are established? They can self-promote all they want, but people who aren't are hated for their efforts, even if the content in a vacuum is accepted.
I know there are probably a lot of us who make cool shit (or at least we think it is) and would like to share that, I just want the community to give people the opportunity organically, without having to hope someone else posts it.
Might seem ranty, might seem preachy, but I wanted to know what you thought?

My first thought was a lot of the writing that goes on via the site, which I just learned about the other night (thanks @gr33narrow!) but as I see you defining it, I guess I'm oppose to original content intended just to hock someone's product. I find it obnoxious when it's either blatant or some attempt at covering it up. That said, I think people should post whatever they feel like...particularly, if they think it will be enjoyed by others. I'm not going to go around downvoting someone just because they made something cool and want to make a living. Equally, I don't have a problem with sharing their websites. I'd prefer they stick around and not just post that material. But it all comes down to personal preference.

Can't wait to see you post more 'round these parts!
