I know! a few big up-voted articles and memes and posts in general lately are material from a year or so ago...

Edit: not including the "one year ago in voat" I think those are cool

Ultimately the biggest problem of Voat is a lack of activity in most subs. Even the major subs like askvoat can be painfully slow. So for now reposts don't really bother me as there is at least some discussion. I'll start frowning upon reposts once Voat is more active.

Ever think people might get turned off by the fact that stuff gets recycled so much ?

Ultimately new users won't notice that and I doubt established Voaters would leave because of it. I think the lack of content is a much bigger problem for Voat. People are pissed with Reddit but they come here and see most subs, except the biggest like news, politics, gaming, askvoat and the meme subs like fph, are dead and they leave because of that. The amount of non political content is abysmaly low. I stay here because I mostly discuss politics and I can do that here but if I was just some average user who visits /r/tifu, /r/historyporn and /r/civ then Voat would be completely unusable for me. Content is the most important thing to have right now and currently maybe even a quantity>quality approach is better, at least for the time being.

Strangely the lack of activity makes it easier to spot the trolls/shills. fph and niggers and other add-nothing shit subs are prime grounds for the sharia types to create chaos and to perpetuate hate, confusion and general FUD. This manufacturing of the extremes is a tool of theirs, it's part if their MO.

I'd rather have thousands of posts and unnoticable shills then 10 posts and evident shills. I guess I removed myself from a lot of Voat activity as I blocked all the fph, pizzagate, coontown etc. shit post subs.

I call out obvious reposts from several ago and always get down voated.

I didn't say anything when vault 7 opened because I'm sure many people were gaming for SCP.

I try to check first and then post.

We have new people joining all the time who repost and upvoat stuff they don't even know are reposts. And then we have the SCP whores

those are the worst! I noticed when the memes started rolling in hard that was ok cuz most of those were original or reused material but the SCP hoes can take their coats
