I do enjoy my job a lot. I'm pretty Senior for what I do and I'm paid well.
That said, my commute sucks - not so much because of where I live, but mostly because of where the office is located: Surrounded by some of the worst traffic in the nation.
So remember: To a reasonable degree, your commute is part of your work day. I leave early nearly every day to beat traffic and see my family for a proper family dinner. Then, if needed, I'll do another hour or so of work from home after the kids go down.
Don't ever make the mistake of burning yourself out with a longer than necessary work day due to circumstances beyond your control. And if your company demands such, it's not a good company; find another job as soon as you can.
