I fear the proliferation of social networks (including Voat) and the political hugboxes they more than often create make any attempt to calm down people at either side quite difficult. Couple this with the fact that most people no longer trust mainstream media because a) said MSM has shown to be biased or journallistically incompetent before but also b) because the MSM may not always say what the individual reader wants to see.

This leads to increasingly radicalization. Moderate people on the right spectrum eventually do turn into racists or nazis if the left constantly accuses them of being such. Converrsely, moderate people on the left mutate into communists or anarchists or whatnot if the right tries to discredit them as such. More importantly, people come to believe that literally all of their problems are the responsibility of the respective other, regardless of whether the latter is an ethnicity, a political group, a sexual orientation, or a religious faith.

At the end of the day, the first step is to recognize the constant risk of building your own hugbox (intentionally or not) due to conformation bias, and to accept that "your" side, too, is entirely capable of fucking up ever so spectacularly.

The left is racist and is stomping on EuroAmericans. They lie about everything to make right look bad. The Left is forcing people to defend themselves.

The left is calling the white race inheritly racist, which I think might be the best oxymoron I've ever seen in action. They call for white genocide and violence on those they disagree with, with the mainstream media supporting all of it.

I am a libertarian (if i was allowed to choose something) but now i am a racist right-winger that beats up muslims in my free time. I have not been radicalized, and my views haven't changed much since ron paul ran in 2004, but the "left" has gone absolutely off of the deep-end. There is no rational discussion that they will have, and when it is forced on them they freak out, and end the discussion somehow. I will not become radicalized, but if groups of people threaten me then i will dislike those groups of people. if a group of white, male, christians was threatening me then i would like them as well, it doesn't make me racist, sexist, or a phobe of their religion.

I have heard so much about anti-trump people getting attacked by trump supporters, but i have only seen a mountain of evidence for the opposite. afaik, trump supporters are just trying to live their lives. If you have something to add to then then that would be great, but i have seen many articles about "hate crimes" since trump's election, and none of them have had evidence.

People LIKE that radicalization too. It feels good to have a clear and evil enemy.

Voat is a great example... Just look at the replies above me. It's like there's a goddamn civil war going on, and the sides are divided by being on the right or on the left.

Who has time for the that other sides shitty false fee fee opinions to counter our facts? The ones making all that noise out in public destroying property are spouting off the former and we all know it. We all also know even trying to appeal to them doesn't work. There will not be any peace until the regressives are destroyed.

I think Libertarianism would, or acceptance of a few Libertarian ideals by both sides even if they don't recognize them as Libertarian. The problem is we've lost the concept of limited government and do no harm government so each side fears that anything is possible and any mistreatment to them is possible. They realize that limitations existed in the past but they are unsure about the future and they don't want to be the party without power when all ethics are abandoned.

Republicans are fearful Hillary would give money to other countries and friends with reckless abandon because rules didn't apply to her, and that her DOJ would give carte blanch to any friend to do anything. Democrats are fearful they are going to be put in concentration camps.

What we need is for people on youtube and such (where both groups end up in the same comment section) to say I'd really like to do X but that's outside of the scope of government. Just saying that will put the other side to rest and ease their fears if you give some indication that you get the concept.

We need to do this for our own sake because making limited government philosophically important to them is important for when they end up in power. We need them to have some attraction to the idea.

Also it would be helpful if people on both sides would publicly shame people on their own party that represent the reasonable fears of the other side.

We need lefts to say, marxism is retarded and oppression politics is childish. We need people on the right to tell nazis that their ideology is shit, no sane minded person would want to live under it, and that considering there were no non-white people in Europe at that time actually repressed white people, and did a lot to overthrow the west's best advancements such as the enlightenment.

We need an anti-marxist anti-fascist anti-totalitarian center (that can identify that the far left are not an example of true anti-fascism). Then we should show that Trump is a part of that anti-totalitarian center considering he wants to shrink the power of government.

Is is what I feel is truly missing from politics today.

That's a good point, there needs to be a baseline of agreed upon rules for things to progress.

Getting along with people = PC bullshit, good to know. Good forbid people want to prevent civil war/unrest.

getting along with people = facts are covered up and nothing get solved. for example, liberals like to cover up the fact that niggers are out of control with violence. so, instead of trying to fix the source of the problem (nigger culture) they just blame whitey for everything. the truth is covered up by both sides but liberals are far worse over the long term

Not everyone is reasonable, or willing to get along, see the mass protests for example. The question is how to deal with large groups of hateful people like that, the problem of dealing with people who have given up on debate and discourse.

  1. As much as possible, become friends before discussing politics. Good will and trust are best built beforehand.

  2. Never take what an activist says at face value. They are characterized by moral certainty that makes the truth less important than their cause. This needs to become common knowledge.

  3. Be willing to say "I don't know, that's not my issue." about anything you don't obsess over. Being well informed isn't something you are doing as a favor to those who disagree with you. Expect to refute a persons misinformation more than once before they give up on it. Don't expect to be able to do this on every subject.

  4. Patience

In that situation, I invite them to sit down and look at information together. Most of the people who insist I care about rape culture, don't want to sit with me as we investigate a layer further than they have, and find out everything is fraud.

People come to the conclusion that initiating violence is not constructive. Let people do what they want, as long as it dose not harm others.

Get rid of your TV. Main Stream media's agenda is to lie to people and it is promoting violence.

Can I keep my tv and just watch whatever I want and use my brain to be objective and not believe what they on both sides say as true and find out myself and base my opinions on facts and not get ride of it?

Why can't we just divorce? 2 countries, where each one gets to go down the road they want. One based on freedom, the other on big government.

I think Balkanization is the most likely outcome for the United States on a long enough time lime. Many have identified that the U.S. has multiple cultural regions with distinct accents, ideals, moral values, and cultures. It really doesn't make sense to shove so many competing interests together.

Fuck that. Kick all these liberals/anti-whites out of our country. We should not divide and lose our lands because of them, and the problem will not go away.

large meteor destroys international space station. Only Russians are on board. The investigation finds that it was a piece of debris from china space mission. China gets blamed. China and Russia now proselytize and build up military forces along borders. Kazakhstan, Mongolia and North Korea feel stuck in the middle, ask to join NATO. USA stays #1
