I don't expect absolute freedom. I don't expect to be able to rise into the air at will, or kill whomever I feel like murdering. Frankly that isn't freedom. Freedom exists within the bounds of nature and the society of which we choose to be part. The kind of sacrifice you're talking about is inherent, yes, and perfectly acceptable. If it weren't acceptable, well, I wouldn't accept it. I'd fight for an independent existence or a new society.

Here is the freedom. To Choose your own sacrifices. There is no freedom in having sacrifices chosen by others thrust upon you, regardless of whatever good intentions may be the motivation.

Force always is force.
