One Piece seems like a bit of an odd choice given the others are so standalone. One battle can take four episodes, and god forbid you watch them out of order.
I watched One Piece while semi-depressed and also while I was smoking weed constantly. It just holds a special spot for me, since it has a generally uplifting message at least during the first 350ish episodes.
I,Claudius? I remember watching this on our black and white tv set before starting primary school. I could hardly read a third of the subtitles. I will watch it again tomorrow. thanks for reminding me of it
The one I keep returning to the most is the IT crowd. Bojack Horseman is in my opinion one of the best shows out there but it's fairly depressing and the topics are pretty damn heavy (the show can be hilarious and overall brilliant at times though) but it's not something I would rewatch. Cowboy Bebop, Planetes, Shirobako and Ghost in the Shell (Stand Alone complex mainly) are all amazing. Kaiba was probably the most artistically engaging show I have ever seen that left me profoundly puzzled over my feelings.

Have you tried the BSG boardgame? If you like the distrust and deceit of who might be a Cylon on the show, you'll love it as part of the game.
