I've been sitting next to this lady for the last 6-7 months and she's been sniffling non-stop. It comes in spurts, but averages a sniffle every 10-15 seconds. I've offered her a Kleenex and she said she already has some. I've offered her my OTC allergy meds, and she said she doesn't have allergies. At this point, it's affecting me physically, I dread going into the office, and I've recently started having nightmares about it. I've found articles about how the irregular sounds from wind turbines cause health issues, and I think this is similar. When she's not sniffling, I like her fine as a person. What really sucks is I'm mostly responsible for her hire, so I'd feel stupid talking to HR. What the hell do I do?

Perhaps check out Beyerdynamic's offerings, they sit around the ears rather than on them.

Try comfortable ear plugs, not headphones. Or, something like these things https://www.getdubs.com/
They don't cut out the sound by that much but they mute it just a little.
