Hello,
Not in the traditional Romero sense of the word zombie however there are several diseases like Rabies and Cordyceps that can mimic some symptoms like anger and drive to find other humans. At the end of the day, cells have to be living in order for "life" I.e. Movement or predation to occur. The rising of the actual undead is as far as we know impossible.
Zombies, in the modern sense are more a metaphor for mob violence and fear of death. They allow us to live our apocalyptic fantasies like guilt free kills on our douchebag bosses more than anything else. I hope this answers your question.

Yes. Why else do you think there are so many shows about zombies? Also, science backs up the probability of a zombie apocalypse. Even the gov knows it can and will happen. Why else would they have this ------> http://www.cdc.gov/phpr/zombies.htm
1) Rotting corpses would physically fall apart or be eaten by scavengers in short order.
2) "Slow" zombies would be defeated by the simple tactic of bite-proof clothing. Heavy canvas, leather, etc. Basically the first person to visit a farm supply, welding, construction, etc store would be invincible after an hour with some needle and thread (short of being crushed to death).
3) "Fast" zombies would cripple themselves even faster by tearing their bodies apart by inflicting debilitating injuries on yourself.
4) A "The Stand"-esque scenario would be more realistic (superbug kills 99.99% of the population).
Doesn't mean zombies aren't freaking cool, just totally implausible.

Not under The Democratic Party. No brains, zombies starve.

Not in the movie sense for sure. But I imagine weaponised bathsalts would yield a pretty similar result.

After a summer or winter where I live zombies wouldn't be around anymore. So I guess we'll keep about 6 months worth of supplies.

Here's 10 reasons why it's I'm possible.

How would you get around these issues? Hell, even the zombies on walking dead don't make sense.
