How this goes is, I got A+ in MATH 1112 with a $100 used book. ($215 is required for a new book, ) However, I am taking a second elective, MATH 1102.
90% of your grade is obtainable, however, 10% of your grade isn't. It is locked behind a paywall. You need to pay $76 Canadian dollars to "unlock" the last 10% of your grade. You have 14 days to access, that means you can complete 2 MathLab assignments for a total of 92%. (one assignment will be given out a week, so you can only do 2 assignments.)
I plan to fuck with the system by creating multiple "14 day" student accounts, or I just say fuck it and get my A instead of my A+. What does Voat think of it?? What can I do??
This looks like a big fucking scam by Pearson, Wiley etc. etc.
This is why I DON'T purchase those textbook publisher books unless I am forced to do it. (Such as industry certifications CompTIA A+, Network+ which I think it's bullshit too.)
EDIT: I try to make it more clear in the comments section.
You are in a classroom. You are either forced to buy the textbook brand new, or another $76 license key with your current old textbook, or take the 10% grade loss.
If you don't, you can only have 14 days to do assignment, and rushing isn't allowed since the teacher "hasn't finished the questions yet."
I plan to fuck with them by creating multiple trial accounts and do each assignment individually.
What will you do??
