I would love to see it break away from the unspoken Reddit-imgur connection allowing for new startups with better policys to receive our traffic.

You are against using imgur?

imgur is essentially reddit at this point.

I'm not against it. I am against a website delivering a large percentage of voats content because it can lead to a conflict of interest.

Can you name another site other than imgur? Im only aware of imgur. If there are better alternatives I'll definitely use it.

Better troll quality, reddit has bad trolls
Less hate and insanity
Less worry about sub front page "shitposts" seriously some subs were just mountains of rules because "Someone posted this once don't post anything similar ever"

I'd like to see a voting system that allowed serious replies to be upvoted separately from humorous ones or the ability to upvote a post a lot or just a little. As it is, an upvoat for The Best Post In The Whole World would count exactly as much as an upvote for a slightly funny joke. Since there are a lot more amusing quips than interesting comments, this could result in needles of information hidden in haystacks of fluff.

I haven't seen any pun threads or chains here, but I'm sure this will change once more people are using voat

Better strategy for moderation. I posted an extremely detailed outline for something I'd like to see put in place over at /v/ideasforvoat
Shameless link for visibility since I think it's truly a good idea.
