Archived A question about freedom of speech (AskVoat)
submitted 5.5 years ago by Phuck_Reddit
OK, so reddit has a right to limit the speech on it's site (as does any website). The reasoning is that you have the right to express yourself, but nobody is obligated to provide you a venue for that expression. Understood. But where exactly does that end. Can godaddy, namecheap, et al limit the expression made on their servers? Can att (i fucking hate at&t) or charter limit your speech on their bandwidth? How does this work exactly? Freedom of expression is so fundamental to a free society and the exchange of ideas that I don't think it should ever be limited.

There will always be market demand for freedom. Now I wish there was a "hardcoded" function within VOAT that would guarantee that no matter what.
