I've done it a couple of times now. I worked at a call center, collecting on credit cards. I ended up moving to NYC and decided not to transfer within the company. I ended up teaching beginner level robotics to spoiled brats at a glorified toy story. I ended up joining the Navy, which was a pretty sweet gig. I didn't want to spend my life doing it though, so I quit when my contract was up. Now I measure dirt and write technical papers about how the wind interacts with it for a living. It's not much money at all right now, but if I can get certified as a geologist and find work, it will pay off quite a bit.

CIWS tech.

For the layman: CIWS is a 6 barrel gatling gun hooked up to a couple of radars that will track and automatically shoot incoming aircraft/missiles/whatever as long as it's going fast enough. I did the repair, maintenance, and operated it.
