I know a lot of people came over because of censorship and free speech, as I did, but how is this place in terms of transparency? One of the major issues on reddit was how much blatant marketing there was going on and it totally destroyed the amas. How do I know this isnt just another reddit waiting to happen?
There's a part of me that thinks that maybe it's just inevitable. once you get a certain amount of traffic well then you start attracting the attention from marketers and what not. What if we did something good with that like donate it somewhere? Or better yet, have them give us some sort of confirmation they donated to save us the issue of dealing with the money. That way you could take away some of the stigma of being marketed to. I don't know, that might be a dumb idea.
I'm still kind of feeling this place out. How interactive are the admins? Has there been any mod abuse? that seems kind of unavoidable with any sort of power to some people. How do we deal with those types of issues; the human side of the equation with out going full pao?
This is the next generation. How are we going to evolve, if at all? Is this just one phase in a long process or can we do something about this? That's primarily why I was asking how interactive the admins were.
