Project Gutenburg is probably the largest online collection.

That was quick. And awesome. Just clicking around a bit and I find a decent amount of 404's... but it seems there is a lot here.
Much appreciated. :)

Archive.org also has some old texts. If you're interested in old scientific, medical, and social stuff, the Royal Society is also a good place. They have posted 350 years of their journal publication.

There's a lot of stuff on the Internet Sacred Text Archive. Most of this stuff may be already covered by Project Gutenburg but I'm not sure.

Go to book sales, library closing sales, university clear out sales. Dig around a bit you will find plenty of weird ass old books. I found a copy of Thomas More's works, literally photocopied from the hand written books. Its super hard to read because its old English and hand written. Usually its something useless. I also have a hobby of hollowing out books into those secret compartment books so if I find out and see that its boring I'll just hollow it out.

Get membership of a copyright library and you'll be set for life!
(I'm (still) a member of Bodley, and it's never let me down.)

Archive.org is another great resource of old books, even including foreign language ones like Augustin Krämers German reports about 19th century Samoa or the original Mein Kampf.

I may have to swap over. I'm currently on a windows phone... and I dislike it, but I paid for it so I will be using it until it runs itself down.
