You should check out Watkins's older stuff. Very different style, still really cool.

I didn't think I liked this song as much as I Fink U Freaky and Baby's on Fire but it gets stuck in my head so much that I must like it a lot. Haha

Nine Inch Nails - Something I Can Never Have

This song really describes my feelings at the moment. I've been depressed almost all of my life. The first time I'd been genuinely happy since I was a young child was recently, a few months ago. I'd met a girl. We clicked amazingly, I've never gotten along like that with anybody. She developed bipolar mood disorder over the course of our relationship. She spent two weeks in a mental hospital after becoming suicidal. When she got out she was a completely different person. We had been together for seven months when she broke up with me. The only thing that I want is for her old personality to come back but she's gone now. I just want something I can never have.

This has been a favorite song of mine at several of the most depressing times in my life. So much so that just listening to it is enough to dampen my mood for hours and so I'm not willing to listen to it today, when I need to be productive. When I've loved it, it was because the sentiment resonated so perfectly with what I was feeling at the moment that it felt like my pain was helping me to connect with what is true and real in life, but when I'm not in that space I recognize that it's just that the resonance made the pain more pronounced and when I'm depressed pain is respite from the lack of feeling. It only really "helps" to make the moment more bearable, like getting drunk or high, but continual indulgence in self-destructive stuff makes depression harder to escape in the long run.

Well, that ended up more preachy than I intended, but I'm going to leave it. Anyway, depression sucks and I hope you make it through as quickly as possible.

Ehh. I've almost always been depressed and I probably always will be. Not much point in trying to escape it anymore. I only listen to this song at the end of the day though because afterwards I'm useless for the rest of it.

She is. I'm not. Family are douchebags who don't give a fuck about me and my "friends" are bad people. Thank you for the kind wishes though.

I can't get enough of Shinedown's Lady So Divine right now.

I kinda feel dumb for just now finding a song I love, from a band I like, on an album that was released a decade ago.

Dang, that's a big stylistic range you have there. The only real similarity I can see is the strong female lead.

Hmmm... well, the whole album has a funky RnB influence (mixed with lo-fi garage aesthetics).. not really sure what you'd call it. If you're looking for more stuff like this, I really don't know who else is going this at the moment (though I'm sure there are plenty), you might just have to go back and look through funk/RnB bands from the mid-late 70s.
