I think of my age, in my head. Then I use that as a starting point to make comparisons against all of my former life. Something like "I'm 31 years old. One month ago, I was _____. One year ago, I was _____. Since then, I've changed my mind about _____. ____ and _____ are no longer important people in my life, but _____ and _____ have become very close."
It gives me perspective on where I've been and how I got where I am. Helps me understand where I'm going.
No, not really. Usually, if I drifted from someone, I consider the reason we lost touch and just let it go. Mostly it's just logistics. That person or I have moved away, or got married, took a new job. I have plenty of people in my life who do want to talk to me, so I try to enjoy what I have today.
No, If they are in your past that's where they should stay. If they liked you you would still be friends with them. Sometimes that time machine is better off left in the parking space.

Do you ever use this information to reform links with people from the past? Whenever I reach out to old friends I'm met with silence and indifference
