Archived Why does moonlight cool things down? (AskScience)
submitted 4.3 years ago by MRKS
I've read about how things in moonlight are cooler then things in the shade, tested it myself with two of the same thermometers and the one in the moonlight always had 1 degree difference. I've switched them around four times each night and did the experiment for four days, and the one in the moonlight always had a lower temperature.
Here's my setup
Now, why does this happen? I couldn't find anything except for speculation about why moon light cools things down.

Thank you! I was already looking for ways to improve upon the experiment.
I'll do it the next full moon!
