You can get on their mailing lists, I subscribe to a few on a throwaway email and follow some of these people on twitter to see what is going on. I like watching both Trump supporters and Trump detractors. As for a few of the groups organizing these protests.

Indivisible is one such group organizing protests and they are supposedly modeling their protests based on the tea party. They put out a guide on how to protest and "resist" https://archive.fo/twBRc

Then there is the Progressive Resistance League. On their website they list some protest dates https://archive.is/K0RET

There is the ACLU organizing People Power. https://archive.is/92JVx

The rolling stones did an article talking about various forces that are working to resist Trump https://archive.fo/gBGrh

The main thing to get out of that article is that Trump has made a lot of group furious at him, so they've made Trump a common enemy and want to focus their time and energy to stop anything that he wants to accomplish. They see him as an existential threat to America. In other words, progressive groups recruit by being loud on social media and being all hyperbolic about how Trump is going to destroy the world. The people who join in are mostly either useful idiots or concerned citizens depending on your perspective.

I'd say mostly useful idiots.
