Definitely keep the no "what is this guy thinking" rule. Absolutely.

Also, censor nothing apart from complete and total racism, kiddie porn or other truly objectionable content. Merely hurting someone's feelings should not be sufficient to remove content.

I think we should censor only illegal things (and site rule-breaking), and leave it at that. Let the community downvote away the trolls and bigots. I've seen a couple times where mods will loosely interpret rules to get rid of comments/posts they don't like.

"Definitely keep the no "what is this guy thinking" rule."

Strongly disagree with that rule.

As long as the OP is willing to elaborate, and enter into a discourse with me, I can almost always get to the root of their issue. That investigative process is my favorite part of participating in these type of forums.

I didn't like that rule on /r/askmen, and I don't want to see it here.

The rule against 'excessively lewd behavior' seems pretty lame.

I'm thinking that this should apply to blatantly racist and extremely sexist comments. This community is just starting out, so I don't know what sort of content that this place will start generating, so it's hard to define exactly. And of course, with the ability to see stuff removed by the mods, we can get feedback from the community if we're over or under-stepping our bounds.

Ugh, no. That whole 'we must prevent racism and sexism' thing is part of what is making Reddit suck balls lately.

The SJW stranglehold is horrible. If that's the direction you're going to go, I'll not waste my time here.

I would like to see less brigading and circlejerking. Also, frankly it irritates me when a woman has the top answer in AskMen. It seems to defeat the entire purpose...there are tons of places to go to get women's opinions, it would be nice to have this one be a place for just men's opinions.

We'll definitely prevent ingoing and outgoing brigading. Circlejerking is not as well defined, but a combination of using that downvoat button and mod action can help prevent this. As for the woman's opinions, I don't think that there's much that can be done on the mod side, but downvoats are the best way to filter out the bad responses.

That's good to hear! And yeah I understand that there isn't really a way to filter for something like that, it's just a consistent frustration I ran into when using the reddit version. Flairs should be in order at least, to help distinguish the two (are there flairs here? I only just joined!) and keep things organized.

Your username made me chuckle btw!

The authors state that in the overall study there is not statistical significance in the claim that genetics determine obesity

The solution there is to have /v/askwomen not censor everything so women don't have to flee to AM just to be able to speak their mind.

It would be nice if the women just stayed over there, and if they don't like the censorship over there then change it. It's not our fault/problem that they give power to a bunch of ban-happy, censoring idiots.

An excellent point. We'll not enforce that rule here then.

Rule against direct links to r/askmen? Don't want to give the enemy traffic.

While I don't like the idea of giving them traffic, I feel like it might help this community to grow faster. I'm not sure though. I think that we'll have a poll for rules like that when this community becomes more active.

Can't we just do an archive.is link to the thread in question? Also helps in case it gets deleted.

Honestly I had very few problems with /r/askmen, and most of them were more cultural than rule-worthy. If this 'verse were run exactly like that subreddit I'd be a happy subscriber.

We should just post porn and talk about vidya for the time being because I doubt many girls are going to join Voat and ask questions here anytime soon.

Haha. I don't that I'd want to discuss porn with anyone, but until this community grows, I doubt there's much more that we can do. And AskMen isn't just for women asking men questions. We can discuss things too.

Yeah, that's why I said porn and video games. Forgot to add cars.
